Estonian government supports the doctoral studies at foreign universities with the aim to train a new generation of lecturers and researchers for Estonian institutions of higher education and to increase the proportion of specialists with doctoral degrees in the Estonian public sector and enterprises.
The competition is open to everyone who begins or continues their studies at the doctoral level at a recognized foreign university and who, after graduation, is ready to start work in Estonia in a position requiring a doctoral degree.
It is possible to carry out both full-time of part-time study abroad. Scholarship applications are accepted once a year.
The next application deadline is March 1 in 2017.
In the framework of the same scholarship program, the Estonian state also supports doctoral studies at the European University Institute.
